These skills ensure that the executive nurse rises above personal issues and gracefully deals with others in the organization positively. The knowledge derived from experience in a senior nurse executive is indispensable. This means that they can help senior members of the organization understand the situations nurses go through on a daily basis. Without this experience, it would be impossible for other members of the organization to know what nurses go through when dealing with patients.
Through partnering with these two valuable entities, the organization can attain greater heights. This partnership can also help in addressing many more issues around the organization concerning nurses and their jobs (Watson, 2008). Question 2 In the placing of senior executive nurses on committees, in an organization, there is bound to be a positive impact. This is since they tend to understand the nurses more than the other members who run the organization. They have the ability to do this since they are nurses by profession.
Moreover, advocating for their rights is something they can do perfectly. The suggestions they may offer will place most of its focus on the plight of nurses, and what they do in the organization. Nurses will be encouraged to be free and open in how they practice/put their abilities and knowledge to tasks in the organization (Watson, 2008). In many organizations, nurses often face bias and discrimination from doctors. Doctors, in most cases, believe that they are above nurses due to the positions they hold in the organization.
The senior executive nurse placed in a committee in the organization will strive to ensure that this bias is eradicated. Everyone in the organization is there for a purpose hence no bias should exist. Everyone is there to serve and ensure patients get the treatment they require and get back to health (Watson, 2008). After all, without the nurses, the doctors’ work will be twice as hard. In conclusion, to have a system that works for everyone, it is only proper that the nursing profession be given props.
It has been there to ensure people get the right treatment and care after an illness, or accidents (Watson, 2008). It is only right; therefore, to appreciate what the nursing profession has become, and developed into over the decades.
