"Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology" is a great example of a paper on neurology. The gait cycle can be defined as the time interval between two successive occurrences of one of the repetitive events that take place when a person is walking [1]. The process occurs as a result of the left foot is on the ground and; hence, providing support for the right foot. The process involves the left foot giving support to the right foot in a single cycle. For the process to occur, the gravitational force is a requirement [4] [5].

The gait cycle is divided into 7 main periods. Some include the loading response and the terminal response. It also includes the swing phase, which is normally found at the stance phase, and the stance phase, which is subdivided further into, the initial swing, the mid-swing and the terminal swing [3]. The duration for a complete swing is classified into two that is the swing time and stance time. The gait can be determined by the different body posture that a person portrays. Doctors and other paramedics advise that a person should observe their body postures [2].

A good example of this is the forward rotation of the person’ s pelvis. This might end up leading to other abnormalities in the body. There are several types of gait processes. One example is the antalgic gait. This gait is characterized by the reduction of loading of an affected extremity caused by decreasing stance phase time or joint forces [4]. Its main symptom is in a person’ s feet as they tend to feel a lot of pain, which extends to the upper parts of the heap and the knee, as well.

During these painful moments, the patient tends to try as much as possible to lessen the weight placed on the painful part [1] [2]. They do this while walking or running mainly by altering their gait. By doing so, the speed of an individual tends to reduce gradually as a result of the pain endured. This affects the style of the patience’ s normal cycle [3]. This gait may be frequent at times depending on the damaged part that is the musculoskeletal system.

Other types of gait patterns include the normal gait cycle. What gait pattern was the man suffering from? From this analysis, all the symptoms depicted by the man pointed out to Antalgic gait pattern. This is because of the corn he complained that was in his shoes. This conclusion can also be drawn from the symptoms explained above, which included unusual or altered walk. A person does this so as to reduce the pain [5]. The man portrayed this symptom judging from the way he walked. This is because this type of gait cycle normally affects the metatarsal and phalanges of the toes just to mention a few [5].

Another cause of this might be as a result of stress. In other serious cases, it may be due to diabetic-related issues, borne infection, ingrown toenails, ankle sprain, foreign body, blisters, and stress fracture among others. In many cases, a patient suffering from this kind of infection is always advised to seek the advice of a doctor. A person should do this immediately he or she notices some pain. Failure to do this can lead to other complications like back pain.
